Chao Samran Beach has been a major tourist attraction since ancient times. In the past, Hat Chao Samran Subdistrict was Bangtalu Subdistrict. This was the favorite white sandy beach of King Naresuan the Great, Phra Chao Suea (Tiger King), kings of the Ayutthaya period, who were very fond of this area and spent time fishing for pleasure to such an extent that this site has been designated as "Hat Chao Samran" which means "Beach of Royal Leisure". Until the reign of King Rama VI, he graciously ordered the construction of Kai Luang Bangtalu Palace at the coast of Chao Samran Beach and changed the name to Hat Chao Samram Palace. The reason is that the word "Bangtalu" is inauspicious. So, Bangtalu Subdistrict has been named Hat Chao Samran Subdistrict as well.

This palace was constructed in 1859 by the gracious order of King Mongkut (Rama IV) who came to stay at this residence occasionally. Besides, he used this place for welcoming the distinguished visitors of the country.  Khao Wang is currently a major tourism location of  Phetchaburi Province as well as a symbol of Mueang Phetchaburi.

The Laem Phak Bia Environmental Study, Research and Development Project is the experimental plot of the royally-initiated project related to the development and regeneration of mangrove forest area as well as the community wastewater treatment station. It is also the way of studying the nature, mangrove forest. There is the wood bridge stretching along the mangrove forest to the beach with a total distance of 680 meters. Moreover, this is a major area of bird watching as well.

Mrigadayavan Palace was a royal residence by the sea. King VI graciously ordered the demolition of Hat Chao Samram Palace for reconstruction in 1923. It has been designated as “Palace of Love and Hope."

The duration from August – December coincides with the period of water compression         (According to local language, "water compression" will take place during the time that water in the Gulf of Thailand will spin out of Samut Songkhram Province and Phetchaburi Province. Animals that are feed for whales would come out along). With any luck, it is possible to see Bruda whales come out to find feed on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. Going on a cruise for watching the whales with mouths fully open above the water surface to stalk prey is an impressive experience.

This is the origin of southern beaches which protrudes as cape. The tourists can take a boat from the shore to see the boundary between the sea of mud and the sandy beach which extends into the sea up to 2 kilometers. The area of dunes is also a spot that can view the sunrise and sunset. Besides, travelers can also go on a cruise to watch the fishing lifestyle of local inhabitants and the mangrove forest ecosystem as well.

King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) graciously ordered the construction of this palace in 1910 with his private property to be a royal residence for staying in the rainy season. Ban Puen Palace is a building with architectural beauty and interior decorations of European style.

Khao Luang Cave is located on Khao Luang Hill and is about 5 kilometers away from Khao Wang or Phra Nakhon Khiri. There are the concrete stairs from foothills leading down to the cave.  Khao Luang is a small hill with only 92-meter peak, stunningly colorful stalactites. The inside has the opening that allows the sun to shine into the cave, making thus the site more beautiful.   Khao Luang Cave is considered as the largest and most important cave in Phetchaburi Province. Inside the cave, the Buddha image with garment of great significance was enshrined, which was created by the gracious order of King Rama V for being dedicated to King Mongkut (King IV).

Wat Mahathat Worawihan is indeed a significant temple in terms of art and archaeology. The main hall houses the revered Buddha image, Luang Por Saksit, while behind it stands the iconic 5-tiered Phra Prang inside the Viharn Khot. Additionally, on the south side of the main hall lies Phra Wihan Noi. Furthermore, Wat Mahathat Worawihan boasts a temple museum showcasing a collection of art and the temple's rich history for visitors interested in learning more.
